Where it falls short in Hong Kong
The Hong Kong library is not the US library. Streaming rights are licensed territory by territory, so a title being ‘on Netflix’ somewhere does not mean it is on Netflix here. This catches out anyone following international coverage, and it is the single most common complaint.
For Cantonese-language drama the gap is real. Netflix carries some Hong Kong film and a rotating selection of local titles, but it is not a substitute for the TVB library. Households that watch Cantonese drama regularly end up pairing it with a local service.
Cantonese audio and Chinese subtitles
Cantonese dubs are the exception rather than the rule.
