myTV SUPER outside Hong Kong
The TVB library is geo-restricted to Hong Kong. What subscribers abroad can do about it, and what they cannot.
myTV SUPER carries the TVB library, and for Cantonese drama there is no real substitute — which is exactly why losing it on moving abroad is such a common complaint.
The restriction is territorial licensing, not a technical fault. The service checks the location you connect from and declines to stream outside Hong Kong, regardless of whether your subscription is current.
For an existing subscriber the practical fix is a VPN with Hong Kong servers and an app for the device the household actually watches on — usually a TV rather than a laptop. What it will not do is replace the subscription itself.
