One summer, strange phenomena are reported across Japan. The Nohara family travels to Hiroshi's hometown in Akita for a visit. While preparing for the trip, a mysterious shadow secretly watches Shin-chan playing monster pretend games. After arriving, Shin-chan finds flyers for "Yokai Village" with "Chocobi All-You-Can-Eat!" and begs the family to go.
